hardest part of writing

Whenever I get a new writing assignment for school, it usually takes me a while to think of what I want to say. I want to make sure I am on topic, give enough examples, and that it all flows together. Sometimes I have to use a new topic because my origional ideas dont form a long enough essay. Another thing I sometimes do is try to stretch out my paragraphs. I always worry that if I stretch them out, that they get too off topic.
The other issue I sometimes have is trying to give a short, clear, to-the-point paper. For example, in my psychology class we have to write a 2 paragraph paper on a suicide bomber. We have to use examples of why he thinks the way he thinks, and explain how he is influenced to become a suicide bomber. Its hard for me to make sure I have all my information down, but still only have 2 paragraphs.

why i'm proud

Writing this paper, on my earliest memories of reading, really made me look back at how far I have come today. I am very proud of my accomplishments as a reader, and also as a writer. When I first wanted to learn how to read, I thought I would never understand. Today I dont even realize sometimes that I am reading! I am proud of this essay, just because I am glad to share my memories.  I love looking back and remembering how I felt. In this literacy narraitve, I had done just want I wanted to do...which is to explain to the reader exactally how I learned to read. I feel like I have written down the greatest memories that I have with reading, and that makes me proud of my paper.

In elementary school, we always had the "easy way" out of correcting a ruff draft. All I had to do was write my ideas, and form a paper out of them.  Then all I had to do was turn my paper in, and the teacher would mark it up with her red correcting pen. After I got it back I made the changes, and suddenly it became my final paper. Usually, since the teacher made the initial changes on my paper, she always agreed with my final. Therefore, it was hard not to get an A grade everytime!
Once I started high school, I found teachers were not as easy as they were in elementary/middle school. Now when I had a final paper to write, I had to make all the changes on my own. I never was sure if I was making the right changes to my writing. Thats when I decided to let my classmates read, or at least skim through, my papers. If it was a short essay assignment, my friends would usually read it over and give me some suggestions. When my papers were more that two pages in length, however, they usually glanced over it and said it was too long to read. If that was the case, I would give the paper to my mom or dad to read it over.
I have given many papers out to friends or family to read and revise for me. It always helps to get a different point of view, so the final paper turns out the best it can be.

importance of reading/writing

Reading is very important. Signs, menus, books, labels- all require reading skills. I would feel very lost in another foreign country, where all the words are in another language. Illiterate people probably feel the same way. It is important to know how to read, at least one language. This way, you can understand how to react.
Writing is also very important. Office reports, notes, letters, or school work. These all require the ability to write. It can be embarrassing if you miss-spell a common word or can't write a simple sentence.
